Avril on leave in June and July

Avril will be taking long-overdue Annual Leave in June and July 2026, and services at NBUC will be taken by Rev. Dr Margaret Mayman.

Margaret grew up in a regional area of Aotearoa-New Zealand’s South Island, where she was part of a caring Presbyterian church-attending family with a strong ethic of community service. She married her wife, Clare, when both were Presbyterian ministers in 2013, the year that marriage equality became legal in New Zealand. She and Clare then moved to Australia, and Margaret has been minister at Pitt Street Uniting Church in Sydney and St Michael’s Uniting Church in Melbourne.

The Elders will provide pastoral care while Avril is away. Avril’s first Sunday back will be 2 August 2026.
